12A and 80G Registration. 80G Registration comes under Section 80G of Income Tax Act and provides benefits to the donor of an NGO, whereas Section 12A Registration will assist an NGO to get an organization income exempted from Tax.

 

What is 12A certificate?

 12A registration is a one-time registration which is granted by the Income Tax Department to trusts and other not for profit organisations. The purpose of the registration is to be exempted from the payment of income tax. 12A registration is generally applied for immediately after incorporation.

What are the benefits under Section 12A? The donor can receive tax exemption on the donated amount if the trust or NGO where the donation is done is being registered with Section 80G. When the donor donates from their income towards the trust or NGO, they can get tax exemption on that amount
